most dangerous places in india for the courageous (1)

Looking for an adrenaline rush? We have got just the thing for you.

We all have read about the most beautiful places to travel to in India. So, we thought of making some changes.

We think the most adrenaline-pumping and haunting places in India should also have a list. After all, where else do you go to soothe your thirst for some real adventure in your life?

So, if you are one of the Bravehearts who doesn’t blink an eye watching the most gruesome horror movies or doesn’t care about treading dangerous grounds, maybe it is time to live dangerously.

Here’s a list of the best spine-chilling places to visit in India:

Dras, Jammu and Kashmir

The Gateway to Ladakh or Dras is the second coldest inhabited region in the country. Lying approximately 10,597 feet above the ground, Dras will send shivers down your spine. The temperature here often drops below -45 degrees. The lowest temperature recorder here was -60.

Dumas Beach, Gujarat

Dumas beach is known for its black sand. Why is the sand black, you ask? Well…the ash of burnt dead bodies has mixed with the sand here to give it such a unique hue. During the day, this beach looks like any other beach. In the night, however, it becomes a beach out of a horror novel.

Even the local government has advised citizens against roaming the beach at night. If you love all things eerie, this might just be the place for you.

Rohtang Pass, Himachal Pradesh

We have all heard of Rohtang Pass. Situated at 13,000 feet above sea level, this pass is strategically important to our country. It is one of the most challenging roads to pass through. The narrow pathway, unpredictable snowfall, sudden slides, and chilly air make Rohtang Pass one of the most dangerous places in not only India but the entire world.

Gurez Valley, Jammu and Kashmir

Gurez Valley is situated at a distance of 130 kilometres from Srinagar. It constitutes within itself landscapes, mountains, rivers, and every natural splendour you can think of. However, it is not its beauty that makes this place dangerous. It is Gurez Valley’s proximity with the Line of Control That makes it unsafe and dangerous. It is also known for avalanches that have killed several people in this area.

If that was not enough, there have been several reports of death here caused by stray landmines.

Kuldhara, Rajasthan

Once a community of Paliwal Brahmins, Kuldhara is notorious for all its residents fleeing within a night. An entire village was left deserted in a night and the worst part is that nobody saw anyone leaving.

Naturally, the village is called cursed and is still a haunting place full of mute souls. The village is looked after by the Archeological Survey of India and remains closed during nights.
