Floating Market
Dal Lake is the second largest lake in Jammu and Kashmir. The lake is also popular for the commercial operations like Fishing, Water Plant Harvesting and Vegetable market. The area is a tourist spot and has several houseboats and Shikaras which also attracts the attention of the visitors. The Floating Market is afloat the Dal Lake. The selling of the vegetables in the midst of the Lake is a sight worth seeing and the market is operational on all days between 4a.m to 6a.m. In reality it is trading between the farmers and the traders. The farmers bring the vegetables and sell the same to the vendors for reselling. The Lake also becomes the sight-seeing spree for the visitors who can hop in the Shikara after the operating hours of the Floating Market. The farmers sell their produce in their canoe and the visitors can watch this trading with amusement.
