    Begum Hazrat Mahal is a marble memorial built in the honor of a courageous woman. The memorial is located in the Old Victoria Park in Lucknow. The monument dates back to the year 1962.The monument was built on 15th of August by the state government to commemorate Begum Hazrat Mahal’s contribution in 1857’s Revolt. A grand inauguration ceremony was held where the entire area was decorated with flower strings and illuminated with neon lights. There was a time when Begum Hazrat Mahal Park was used as a Rally ground on the occasion of Dusshera and other celebrations. The park is now visited by thousands of tourists who come here to behold this spectacular sight. Known as one of the most spectacular gardens in the Hazrat ganj area, the park has serene fountains, beautiful flowers, trees, and stone pathways which highlight the beauty of the park. This is a perfect place to visit for those who wish to take a break from the combustion of the city. There are many other attractions around this place as it is located in central part of Kathmandu.Jame Masjid, Ghantaghar, and the famous Darbar Marg are located nearby.
