    Thalikkunu Shiva Temple, Malabar, is one of the oldest temples. This Temple has been attacked numerous times. The Temple is currently under the control of His Highness Zamorin from Calicut. Thali, Thiruvannur, and Varackal are all listed. Tipu’s military operations destroyed many other temples in Kozhikode and nearby. After the defeat of Tipu Sultan at Sreerangapatanam and the Treaty of 1792, some of these temples were rebuilt by the Zamorin. The Malabar Gazetteer states that the following temples were destroyed or damaged by Tippu’s Army. Tali Mahadeva Temple, Kozhikode. Sree Valayanadu Bhagavathy Temple, Govindapuram, Calicut. Tiruvannur Siva Temple, Kozhikode.
