    Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace was the resident of the famous Mysore ruler Tipu sultan. It is located in Bangalore, India. The construction of this fort was started by Hyder Ali and was completed by Tipu Sultan after his death. The palace was finally completed in 1791.

    The palace is made of teak wood the palace is an amazing example of Indo –Islamic architecture. The pillars and wall are intricately decorated with carving and motifs. There is a balcony where Tipu Sultan is assumed to have conducted a Durbar from. The front area of the palace is maintained by horticulture department and is a lush garden with green lawns. The ground floor of the museum has been converted to a museum where the artifices and paintings from Tipu’s Era are on display.

    After the Anglo-Mysore war the British used it as a secretariat until moving to attrah kacheri . The place is maintained by the Government of Karnataka and is open for public visits from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
